Spirulina contains a number of vitamins and minerals (for example, vitamin B12 and iron, important for blood formation), as well as high-quality plant proteins with a well-balanced spectrum of amino acids. The spiral microalga Spirulina platensis is believed to be one of the oldest known organisms on our planet. This algae does not grow in the sea, but in strongly alkaline subtropical lakes. The special properties of microalgae spirulina were already known to the ancient Aztecs and Mayans.
BSE Vertrieb's spirulina is grown organically according to the organic aquaculture conditions of "Naturland" (German Association for Organic Agriculture), which means - without pesticides (only plant-based bio compost is allowed as fertilizer), completely isolated, clean (meeting the purity criteria of spring water or drinking water ) and in mineral-rich waters. Proximity to the equator, sunny climate and high water quality provide ideal growing conditions for spirulina. Immediately after collection, the spirulina is filtered and purified, gently dried and immediately packed in airtight containers.
